Trainer/Teaching Qualifications Training Course (ENG+UA)

Level 3 Award in Education and Training

This course is designed for individuals who want to start a career in teaching, either in Further & Adult Education or to become a teacher. 

Level 3 AET, formerly known as PTTLS is an introductory level teaching qualification which allows a person to start their career by becoming trainers in various industries such as adult and community education, beauty salon or beauty industry, aesthetics training, private training centres, voluntary sector, commerce, industry, public sector and many more. 

The course is fully online and is to be completed at your own pace within 16 weeks of the date of purchase. 

This is the most flexible format that we offer and allows learners to complete the course at their own pace and can be started at any point.

Learners complete the three written assessments using our electronic resources with videos explaining the topics step by step. 

Within the 16 weeks, you need to do a Micro Teach for 15- 30 minutes in front of 2 audiences, who can be your peer observers. This session can be on your chosen topic and need to recorded face to face or via Teams/Zoom or another platform and send them along with your coursework for assessment. Our online course allows you to access other micro teach sessions in our one of the venues to observe as part of your course if you do not have anyone to observe yourself.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of the course, you will:

•    Understand your own roles, responsibilities and boundaries in relation to teaching/training

•    Understand appropriate teaching and learning approaches within a specialist area

•    Demonstrate session planning skills – plan deliver, observe and evaluate a micro-teach session

•    Understand how to deliver inclusive sessions that motivate learners

•    Understand the use of different assessment methods

•    Understand and analyse the need for accurate record keeping and procedures including internal and external verification

 

Prerequisites/Before the course

•    You must be a minimum of 19 years old

•    Good reading & writing skills in English

•    A lot of ‘Patience’ (This is an intensive course!)

•    Knowledge of the subject you wish to teach/deliver

•    A photographic proof of identification 

 

Delivery methods

The course would involve:

•    Around 48 hours of online material in the form of Lessons

•    Documents and presentations clearly explaining the concepts around Education & Training

•    Discussions with tutor

 

Assessments

•    3 Essay Type Assignments (Theory Assessment) - You would get the Guidance Notes on how to answer the theory assignments to keep you on track

•    Planning & delivery of a 15-30 minutes’ micro-teaching session (Practical Assessment) - The practical micro-teaching session can be done on any topic of your choice. (You would need to be part of at least 1 hours' session duration. The remaining 30-45 minutes can be 'You' observing 'Other's sessions')
